Description

Xylometazoline 0.1% + Benzalkonium chloride sodium 0.02% Nasal drops

The remedy Xylometazoline with a combination of Benzalkonium is a nasal drop to reduce swelling and clear blocked nose. Benzalkonium is an ammonium complex and is utilized as a biocide. Xylometazoline plus Benzalkonium chloride sodium nasal drops are prescribed to clear the passage in the nose due to congestion because of many factors like a common cold, sinusitis, and allergies. It narrows down the blood vessels; reduces inflammation and clears excessive nasal secretions.

Indications

NASOWIPE: Xylometazoline 0.1% + Benzalkonium chloride sodium 0.02% Nasal drops are indicated to clear the passage in the nose due to congestion because of many factors like the common cold, sinusitis, and allergies.

How Does It Work?

Xylometazoline is applied directly to the nasal mucosa and rapidly penetrates the mucosa to cause constriction of nasal veins and decongestion within 5–10 min after administration

Precautions

The nasal drops are not to be used by patients who are allergic to any ingredient of Xylometazoline and Benzalkonium. Not to be used by patients undergoing brain surgery. Not to be used by patients having enlarged prostate glands. Not to be used by children below the age of 12 years. Talk to your treating doctor in case you are suffering from hyperthyroidism.

Side Effects

•  May create sleep disturbances.
•   Lightheadedness
•  Very sensitive patients may feel the vibration.
•   Swelling in any part like the tongue, throat, and face
•   Itching on the skin.
•    Headache. 

Dose Administration 

Only 2 ~ 3 drops may be used in each nostril TDS for adults & children above the age of 12 years. Before applying the drops, you must clear both nostrils. The drops are used as temporary measures and should not be used for a longer time.
