Forlube: Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose Ip 0.5% (10ml) Eye Drops are available in 10 ml packing. Eye specialists prescribe these drops to protect the eyes against environmental aggression. It helps with the symptoms associated with dry eyes. It works as a substitute for tears. Among "ophthalmic medications," CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE is mostly used to treat dry eyes. Due to insufficient tear production, dry eye(s) leave the cornea and conjunctiva (the eye's outer coverings) vulnerable to evaporation and subsequent injury.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Sodium Carboxymethyl cellulose has viscoelasticity and retentive properties. It increases the stability of the precorneal tear film and protects the eye surface against environmental aggression. It keeps eyes moist and lubricated. When enough tears are not produced in the eyes, it keeps the eyes moist. It provides soothing relief from the symptoms of dry eyes, such as soreness, irritation, or a gritty sensation.
