OFLARGE OR: Racecadotril 15 mg + Ofloxacin 50 mg is a suspension base combination available in PET packing of 30 ml. Children's specialists prescribe this syrup. This syrup stops excess water loss during mixed GI infections, bacterial diarrhoea, and dysentery.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Racecadotril reduces the hypersecretion of water & electrolytes in the intestinal lumen. It is better tolerated than loperamide. Ofloxacin is a good option for mixed microbial infection of aerobic bacteria and pathogenic protozoans. It significantly improves compliance with simpler dose administration.

INDICATIONS
OFLARGE OR is a combination of the diarrhoea-treating drugs Racecadotril and ofloxacin in a syrup base. Enkephalinase inhibitor racecadotril has anti-secretory properties. It lessens the intestine's release of water and electrolytes. This lessens the amount of bodily fluid lost during diarrhoea. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic.
ADMINISTRATION OF DOSE
Consult the treating doctor for the right dose of syrup for you. After considering age, gender, and medical conditions, the doctor will decide on the dose and duration of treatment with the Syrup.
SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea, Stomach pain, Vomiting, Headache, Dizziness, Rash, and Itching are some of the side effects. If these or any of these persist, talk to your treating doctor.
PRECAUTIONS
Diarrhea results in water loss and electrolyte imbalance. Take sufficient fluids especially ORS to help keep you hydrated. Take light meals instead of heavy and fatty food. Do not take alcohol while taking and till 4 days after taking this medication. Do not consume Racecadotril + Ofloxacin if the patient witnesses blood in stool, or if you are severely constipated. Consult the treating doctor if your diarrhoea lasts for more than 48 hours.In combination, this syrup is indicated to treat dysentery, mixed GI infections, and Hypersecretory diarrhoea.
