AFTERCOLD AX: Levocetirizine Hydrochloride 2.5 mg + Ambroxol HCl 15 mg + Guaiphenesin 50 mg + Menthol 1 mg SYRUP is available in PET packing of 100 ml. AFTERCOLD AX syrup is prescribed by Pediatrics and General Physicians for expelling the multiple symptoms of respiratory allergies.

How Does It Work?

Levocetirizine reduces sneezing, rhinorrhea, and nasal pruritus. Ambroxol promotes the removal of tenacious secretions from respiratory tracts to reduce mucus stasis. Guaiphenesin decreases sputum quantity in productive coughs. Menthol soothes the inflamed throat. 

Ambroxol, Guaifenesin, Levocetirizine, and Menthol are four medications that treat a cough that produces mucus: Ambroxol, Guaifenesin, Levocetirizine, and Menthol. A mucolytic called ambroxol thins and loosens phlegm, making it easier to cough out. Guaifenesin, an expectorant, facilitates the removal of airway secretions from the airways by lessening the secretions’ stickiness. Levocetirizine is used to treat allergy symptoms including sneezing, watery eyes, and runny nose. Menthol is an organic substance that has a cooling effect and calms mild throat irritation.

Indications

Some Common Side Effects Of Levocetirizine Hydrochloride, Ambroxol HCl, Guaiphenesin, and Menthol Syrup

Few patients may face side effects like Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Dryness in the mouth, Stomach discomfort, Allergic reaction, Dizziness, Headache, Rash, Hives, Fatigue, and Sleepiness. Please consult your treating doctor for further advice.

Precautions

• Increase your fluid intake while taking this medicine to lubricate your throat and help with congestion relief.
• Levocetirizine + Ambroxol may make you feel lightheaded and sleepy, so proceed with caution if you’re driving or performing any other task that calls for focus.
• While using this medication, avoid drinking alcohol as it may make you feel more sleepy.
• Levocetirizine + Ambroxol should be stopped at least three days before an allergy test as it may alter the results. If your cough lasts more than 14 days, tell your doctor.
