How Does It Work?
CEDOBACT CV DRY syrup has two ingredients namely Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Potassium Clavulanate. Cefpodoxime Proxetil USP is a semi-synthetic, oral, extended-spectrum antibiotic of the cephalosporin family. A prodrug called proxetil is absorbed from the digestive system and de-esterified to produce its active metabolite, cefpodoxime. Cefpodoxime Proxeti performs potent antibacterial activity against gram-positive/gram-negative bacteria. It has got high stability in the presence of beta-lactamases. Potassium Clavulanate protects Cefpodoxime against destruction caused by beta-lactamase enzymes. Both medications when working together become synergistically active against bacterial infections caused by beta-lactam-resistant pathogens.
